Democrat offers Greiner uncommon opposition in 43rd House District

Bryan Peirson is a carpenter and serves in the U.S. Army Reserve.

What do you see as the most pressing issues facing residents of your district, and how would you address them?
Cost of living. Work to try and have the rising cost of rent and mortgage prices to slow. Focus on local business and attractions to bring in more employment and money from outside the district

VOTE411 Voter Guide: Pennsylvania State Representative District 43

What are your thoughts on the state budget process? What changes, if any, would you support so that the budget is enacted in a timely manner?
The state budget is large and has many parts so I don’t think there is one single thing we can do to streamline the process but things like working on it sooner or stopping members from leaving the capital/going on extended breaks until it is passed could encourage a faster process

Prioritizes local businesses and attractions to bring jobs and outside money into the district.

Calls for ensuring that tax dollars are allocated and spent properly as an early affordability measure.

How do you plan to address affordability concerns in the region?
Addressing affordability is going to have to take many steps unfortunately. But trying to make sure tax dollars are allocated and being spent properly can be an achievable and necessary early step.

Plans to slow rising rent and mortgage costs.

Proposes starting state budget work earlier and limiting extended legislative breaks until a budget is passed.

What is your position on data center development and regulation in Pennsylvania?
I think data centers are needed but not at the cost of making our lives and environment worse. We need to make sure they follow all regulations not just when being built but after, and to be a benefit not a hindrance to the area.

Should the state legislature enact laws concerning the impacts on water, energy, or land use from the development and operation of data centers? Would state regulation of data center development and operation interfere with the authority of municipalities to establish ordinances under the MPC (Municipal Planning Code)?
Yes, history shows that when large corporations come in and use natural resources freely is has negatively impacted local areas not only financially but with health issues that are only addressed after years of unregulated action

Supports data centers that follow regulations during construction and operation, and laws addressing their water, energy, and land-use impacts.

What changes, if any, would you support to enable better access, ensure security, and support the processes of our elections?
I would like open primaries if that had a majority appeal but also encouraging vote by mail to increase voter turnout and possibly having early voting or being able to count mail in votes the day before the election and not start on Election Day

Would support open primaries if they had majority support.

Supports encouraging vote by mail and is open to early voting and counting mail ballots before Election Day.
