2026 Pennsylvania General Election

Proposes a state constitutional amendment providing need-based property-tax exemptions to veterans with disabilities rated at 50 percent or more, scaled to each veteran's disability rating.

In relation, approximately 121,746 Pennsylvania veterans live in homes with one or more major problems of quality, crowding, or cost, and an estimated 977 are homeless. An amendment to the Pennsylvania Constitution to provide property tax relief to more disabled veterans would enable many of them to keep their homes. The amount of the tax exemption I am proposing would depend on the extent of a veteran’s disability, as determined by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Veterans who are 50 percent disabled or greater would qualify for an exemption proportionate to their percentage of disability. The exemption would continue to be based on financial need.

Please join me in support of this effort to provide much-needed relief to additional veterans who suffered a disability as a result of their service to our nation.
