Nancy Guenst graduated from Montgomery County Community College and the Defense Language Institute.

Nancy Guenst is a small business owner. She served as an analyst and German translator in the U.S. Army for two years.

Nancy currently serves in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, having been elected for the 2021, 2023, and 2025 terms. She previously served on Hatboro Council from 2007 to 2017 and as Hatboro mayor from 2018 to 2020.

Pennsylvania veterans have bravely served our country, and the transition from military life to civilian life can be difficult when trying to find employment upon their return. We need to ensure that our veterans have something worthwhile to come home to, and steady employment is one of many ways we can thank them for their service.

A federal government program previously provided tax credits for businesses that hired veterans and other certain individuals, but that program expired in 2025. My legislation would create a state version of this program by providing businesses with a $2,000 tax credit from the Commonwealth for employing qualifying veterans.

We all want to grow Pennsylvania’s economy and provide good jobs that pay real wages and real benefits. As legislators, we can support economic programs like this one to promote job growth and recognize that veterans are a crucial component of our strong workforce.

Across our state, communities regularly face devastating natural hazards, like flooding, severe storms, and other extreme weather events. These disasters can strike hardest in certain counties, increasing the risk of property damage and leaving families displaced from their homes and their lives in disarray. In the wake of disasters, folks look to insurance companies for relief and coverage to help with the financial burdens that stem from damage to their homes.

Unfortunately, that is not always the case. Increasingly, insurance companies offer coverage that is inadequate to cover damages while stalling the process at every turn. It is for this reason that I plan to introduce legislation that bars insurance companies from doing just that. This legislation will enable our residents to receive the coverage they need to repair their homes and empower them to hold insurance companies accountable when delays occur.

For these reasons, I plan to introduce the Protection of Minors from Conversion Therapy Act to address harms associated with conversion therapy by prohibiting a mental health professional from engaging in this archaic treatment with an individual under the age of 18.
Please join me in protecting Pennsylvania’s youth from this incredibly harmful and widely discredited practice.

# HD 152 - Rep. Nancy Guenst

Representative Nancy Guenst is running for re-election to the State House in the 152nd District, representing parts of Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties. She is a US Army Veteran, a former Hatboro Councilwoman, and the first female Mayor of Hatboro. As Mayor, she helped establish the Hatboro Environmental Advisory Board.

Addressing climate change is a top priority for Rep. Guenst’s campaign. She will continue to fight to restore funding for the Department of Environmental Protection and for new investments in renewable energy. Earlier this year, Rep. Guenst co-authored an op-ed calling for investments in renewable energy amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and price-gouging at the gas pumps.

To address this issue, my legislation would lower the age limit for jury duty exemption from 75 years of age to 70 years of age. This would prevent older individuals from having to travel long distances to participate in jury duty, giving them more time to spend with their families and friends as they age. Having done their civic duty for decades, older individuals deserve a break from the stress of being called for jury duty.

As legislators, we should ensure that our laws reflect the needs of our aging population and reduce unnecessary burdens on older adults. Lowering the jury duty exemption age is a practical step toward supporting the health, well-being, and quality of life of Pennsylvania’s senior citizens.
