Today, Rebecca and her husband are raising their family in Upper Bucks County, where they have deep roots. She is running for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives because true representation begins with the people who live here.

The work Rebecca is most proud of has always been her service to the community. Whether serving on the board of a local animal rescue, mentoring young women, or donating produce from her family farm, she steps up when help is needed.

Rebecca isn't a career politician—she is a mom, an entrepreneur, and a community advocate. Today, politics too often focuses on picking sides, defending teams, and scoring points rather than solving real problems facing our communities here in Upper Bucks County.

“Families do not live according to party labels. Bucks County families and seniors are tired of the infighting and need real solutions that lower costs, from groceries and gas to utilities and housing. My campaign will fight for fair, responsible tax policies that make Upper Bucks more affordable for every generation and ensure seniors on fixed incomes can remain in the homes and communities they helped build.”

Rebecca wants Harrisburg to pay more attention to communities like Quakertown and the rest of Upper Bucks by backing small businesses, supporting responsible investment, revitalizing commercial areas, and helping create good, long-term local jobs.

Issues | Rebecca Prendergast for State House

Proposes a token tax to protect families and small businesses from AI-related grid and infrastructure costs and fund worker retraining.

COMPUTE: Heightened requirements for the most computationally powerful AI systems developed or trained in Pennsylvania.

COST: Protect families and small businesses from electric-grid and infrastructure costs through a token tax, with revenue funding retraining for workers displaced by AI.

Responsible AI Development Act | Rebecca Prendergast for State House

Calls for ensuring that eligible residents receive property-tax and rent rebates and exploring further protections against seniors being taxed out of their homes.

“Pennsylvania already provides more than $1 billion annually in broad-based state property-tax relief, and the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program provides eligible older Pennsylvanians and people with disabilities rebates of up to $1,000, with supplemental relief available for some households. We should make sure people who qualify receive those benefits and continue examining ways to protect seniors from being taxed out of homes they’ve spent decades paying for.”

Economy

To Rebecca, affordability isn't about any one bill or tax. It's about whether people can build a stable life here without constantly bracing for the next increase that might push them out.

In Harrisburg, she'll judge policy by a simple question: does this make life more affordable and secure for the people who live here?

That means cutting unnecessary cost pressures, backing policies that help families manage healthcare and childcare costs, and protecting homeowners and seniors from being priced out of the community they call home.

Healthcare

Wants strong public schools, qualified teachers, safe buildings, special-education support, and pathways beyond college.

“Three of my children are currently in school, so this hits home. I want strong public schools, good teachers, safe buildings, meaningful special-education support, and pathways that recognize college isn’t the only definition of success,” she said. “Pennsylvania’s current budget directs substantial new funding through the state’s adequacy and tax-equity formulas, including a $565 million increase in those areas for 2026-27.”

Education

IN HARRISBURG, REBECCA WILL:

Protect Upper Bucks from irresponsible development by demanding enforceable protections for our water, farmland, electric grid, communities, and taxpayers before massive data center projects move forward.

Make it easier for families and seniors to afford life here by fighting rising healthcare, childcare, housing, utility, and property tax pressures.

PaRAID would examine a temporary pause on new hyperscale AI data-center approvals while electricity, water, infrastructure and public-safety rules are established, and pursue a Large-Scale AI Compute Assessment based on computational capacity or electricity consumption. Revenue could support grid improvements, ratepayer protection, environmental mitigation, workforce programs and independent AI-safety expertise.

SAFETY: Independent oversight and evaluations for cybersecurity risks, catastrophic misuse, dangerous autonomous behavior, and circumvention of human control.

ACCOUNTABILITY: Transparency around electricity demand, water use, computing capacity and infrastructure needs, while building permanent state AI expertise.

COST: Protect families and small businesses from electric-grid and infrastructure costs through a token tax, with revenue funding retraining for workers displaced by AI.

Energy & the Environment

Strengthen our local economy by supporting small businesses, revitalizing communities like Quakertown, and bringing investment and good jobs back to the district.

Invest in the people who keep our communities strong, including public schools, our police, first responders, emergency services, and the infrastructure our towns depend on.

Put the 145th ahead of party politics by demanding transparency, rejecting special interest control, and working with anyone who can help get results for Upper Bucks County.

Public Safety

The 145th is tired of the infighting in Harrisburg, and Rebecca believes it deserves something different. She'll work with Democrats, Republicans, and independents- anyone willing to deliver for Upper Bucks. She'll insist on transparency, refuse to bend to special interests, and make decisions based on what the district needs, not what party leadership wants.
