Fighting for Pennsylvania Families

I’m running to lower costs, fund our schools, lower property taxes, and make big corporations pay their fair share.

Property Tax Relief for Homeowners and Seniors

Tax relief should reach seniors and families whose bills rise faster than their pay.

Affordability & Cost of Living

More Housing Options That Fit Our Communities

We need homes people can afford. We can add them without paving farms or crowding local streams.

Support Local Small Businesses

Local owners need fair loans and some help as costs rise. They should not face rules written for the biggest firms.

No Blank Checks

A firm that gets a tax break must share the deal. Job, road, and water promises should be in writing—and have teeth.

Data Centers

Plans to lower costs and property taxes and require large corporations to pay their fair share.

Supports tax relief for seniors and families whose bills rise faster than their pay.

Supports adding affordable housing while protecting farms and local streams.

Advocates for fair loans, cost relief, and regulations tailored to local small businesses.

Calls for tax-break recipients to make enforceable commitments on jobs, roads, and water infrastructure.

Economy

Meriam will also ensure that everyone, including seniors, has access to healthcare and childcare, as well as expand access to mental health services and preventative care. Lower the cost of prescription drugs and helping families struggling with medical debt is a priority.

Healthcare Access

What Meriam Would Do in Harrisburg
Make Coverage and Care More Affordable

Protect Medicaid. Families, seniors, and people with a disability should know their care will be there when they need it.

Lower Prescription Drug Costs

Drug prices must fall at the counter, not just in a press release. Meriam backs lower costs for patients and firm rules for drug firms.

Keep Government Out of Personal Medical Decisions

Patients and doctors should make choices about abortion, birth control, IVF, and pregnancy care. Harrisburg politicians should stay out.

Protect Access to Personal Healthcare

Meriam will fight long waits, extra forms, and other roadblocks that make legal care hard to get.

Defend Pennsylvania as a Safe State for Care

Pennsylvania should not help another state punish a patient or doctor for care that is legal here.

Plans to expand mental-health and preventive-care access, lower prescription-drug costs, and help families with medical debt.

Supports protecting Medicaid coverage for families, seniors, and people with disabilities.

Supports lower prescription-drug costs for patients and stronger rules for drug companies.

Healthcare

How Meriam Will Help
Fair Funding for All Five Local Districts

A state court ruled that Pennsylvania did not fund schools fairly. Harrisburg must now send real aid to all five local districts, not another one-time grant.

Education

No to Vouchers

Most local families use public schools. Their tax dollars should stay in those classrooms, not go to private schools with fewer rules. Public money belongs in public schools.

Supporting Teachers

Good teachers need fair pay, smaller classes, and safe schools. PSEA and AFT Pennsylvania have endorsed Meriam because she will stand up for public education.

Career and Technical Education

College is not the only path to a good job. Meriam backs hands-on training in welding, health care, building trades, and tech. Students gain real skills. Local firms find good workers.

Keeping Politics Out of the Classroom

Teachers know their students. Parents know their kids. Harrisburg should not ban books or turn each lesson into a political fight. Meriam will trust local schools and families to do their jobs.

Calls for sustained state aid to all five local school districts following the court ruling on school funding.

Opposes using public-school tax dollars for private-school vouchers.

The Rules Meriam Supports
Keep Data Center Costs Off Utility Bills

Data centers should pay for the new power lines and grid work they need. Families and small shops should not get stuck with the bill.

Protect Water, Farmland, and Neighborhoods

Show the public how much power and water each site will use. Protect streams and farms. Follow local rules for noise, traffic, and safety.

Set Strong Statewide Standards

A town should not start from scratch each time a large project appears. Pennsylvania needs basic rules that every builder must meet.

Give Communities a Real Say

Tell residents early. Share the facts in plain words. Hold the local review before the deal is done.

What Meriam Will Protect
No Drilling in State Parks or Forests

State parks and forests belong to all of us. Keep them open for clean water, wildlife, and family trips—not oil and gas wells.

Environment

Protect Farmland and Green Space

Keep working farms in business, most of all in the Upper Perkiomen Valley. State farm funds can help families hold their land.

Keep Water Clean

Saucon Creek and Green Lane Reservoir need care. Fund stream banks, storm drains, and work that keeps dirty runoff out.

Build a Clean Energy Economy

Better windows and insulation cut power bills. Grid work and clean power projects also create skilled jobs. Our region should get both.

Plan Growth Carefully

Growth should fit the town around it. New projects must protect streams and farms, while paying for the roads and pipes they need.

Supports requiring data centers to pay for the power-line and grid upgrades they need.

Calls for public disclosure of data centers' power and water use and compliance with local environmental and safety rules.

Supports statewide standards for large development projects.

The Laws Meriam Supports
Close Dangerous Loopholes

Check each buyer before a gun sale. Let a court act when someone poses a clear threat to themselves or others.

Gun Safety

How will Meriam approach concealed-carry laws?
Meriam supports background checks, red-flag laws, and keeping permit requirements for concealed firearms. Mackenzie voted for SB 565, which would have removed the permit requirement for concealed carry, and for HB 979, which would have limited local gun ordinances.

Keep Ghost Guns Off Our Streets

Ghost guns have no serial number and can dodge a buyer check. Close that gap.

Does Meriam Sabih support gun control?
Yes. Meriam backs buyer checks, rules for ghost guns, and limits on assault-style guns. Moms Demand Action has endorsed her. She also respects the rights of safe, law-abiding gun owners.

Protect Schools and Public Spaces

Fund school counselors and safety plans made by the people who run our schools. Harrisburg should help—not use classrooms as a political prop.

Let Local Communities Act

Towns should be able to act on local safety needs. Harrisburg should not block them.

Supports background checks for gun buyers and court orders restricting firearm access for people found to pose a clear threat.

Supports regulations for unserialized firearms, commonly called ghost guns.

Supports limits on assault-style guns while respecting the rights of safe, law-abiding gun owners.

Supports funding school counselors and locally developed school-safety plans.

Supports allowing municipalities to address local public-safety needs without state interference.
