CANDIDATE INTERVIEW
What do you see as the most pressing issues facing residents of your district, and how would you address them?
The biggest issues I hear about across the 126th District are the rising cost of living, property taxes, public safety, educational opportunities, and the lack of good-paying jobs. Families are working harder than ever but feel like they're falling behind. My focus is simple: lower the burden on taxpayers, expand school choice and career training, support law enforcement, grow small businesses, and make government accountable to the people. Every decision I make will be guided by one question: Will it make life better for the residents of the 126th District? If the answer is yes, I'll fight for it. If it's not, I won't.

What are your thoughts on the state budget process? What changes, if any, would you support so that the budget is enacted in a timely manner?
The budget is supposed to be done by June 30th, but sometimes Harrisburg gets caught up in politics instead of focusing on the numbers. Different groups have different priorities, and when nobody wants to compromise, the deadline gets missed. I believe we should start negotiations earlier, focus on core services, spend taxpayer dollars responsibly, and get the budget done on time. Families and businesses don't get to ignore deadlines, and state government shouldn't either.

Should the state legislature enact laws concerning the impacts on water, energy, or land use from the development and operation of data centers? Would state regulation of data center development and operation interfere with the authority of municipalities to establish ordinances under the MPC (Municipal Planning Code)?
I support economic development, including data centers, but I don't think Harrisburg should override local communities. The state can set some basic standards for things like infrastructure and environmental impacts, but municipalities should still have the authority to make zoning and land use decisions under the Municipal Planning Code. Local governments know their communities far better than state government does, and I generally believe decisions should be made as close to the people as possible.

Public Safety

What changes, if any, would you support to enable better access, ensure security, and support the processes of our elections?
I don't think this has to be complicated. I want every eligible voter to be able to cast a ballot, and I want every legal vote to be counted accurately. We can do both. We should make voting straightforward by improving voter education, making sure polling places are accessible, and helping people understand the process. At the same time, we need commonsense safeguards that give people confidence in the results. Things like keeping voter rolls accurate, maintaining a clear chain of custody for ballots, and conducting post-election audits to verify that the results match the votes that were cast. It's about making sure the people of the 126th District trust the process and know their vote matters.
