About Marci Mustello

HARRISBURG – Rep. Marci Mustello (R-Butler) on Sunday voted for a $50.85 billion 2026-27 state budget, noting House Republicans led the way in making sure this budget balanced without raiding the state's Rainy Day Fund or resorting to new or increased broad-based taxes. “No budget is perfect. However, this avoids new or higher taxes on Pennsylvania families and businesses, and protects our Rainy Day Fund,” Mustello said. “Generally, it’s a win for taxpayers given what was in the governor’s initial proposal.”

Programs like this ensure students graduate ready to contribute, compete and succeed in today’s workforce.” These funds will increase BC3’s capacity for dual-credit courses, which allow high school students to satisfy their curriculum requirements while also earning college credits.

This budget gets Pennsylvania out of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), which is a huge victory for households in helping to control skyrocketing energy prices. It will also serve as a catalyst for job creation across the state.

“The natural gas industry continues to strengthen our local economy by creating jobs and generating revenue,” said Mustello. “These impact fees give our communities the flexibility to invest in infrastructure, public safety and other essential services that directly benefit Butler County residents.” Under Act 13 of 2012, impact fees are collected from the drilling companies with 60% returned to counties and municipalities affected by drilling.
