Kayren was born in Gaston County and followed her family to Montgomery County, where she has called home for the past 33 years. A graduate of the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy, Kayren owned and operated White Star Pharmacy for 37 years, building deep relationships with customers and becoming an active part of the Troy community.

Community service has always been an important part of Kayren’s life. She has volunteered with hospice for 35 years and currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Tillery Compassionate Care. Kayren is also an active member of First Methodist Church, where she teaches children and has served as a delegate to Annual Conference.

The Troy Town Council is made up of a Mayor and five Commissioners. The Mayor is elected every two years and the Commissioners are elected every four years.

Kayren currently serves as a commissioner on the Troy Town Council.
