Tim Fowler is running unopposed for reelection as Minnesott’s mayor.

Minnesott’s four current commissioners are also running unopposed for their seats. They are Cliff Braly, Kenneth Campen, Adam Garfinkel, and David Gaskins.

Adam Garfinkel wanted to make clear, that no one would be walking away with $270,000 in their pocket. He then said, “In my eyes, that’s all the more reason to buy this property as a recreational area for the community.” At the conclusion of the public hearing, Garfinkel also said he was recusing himself from voting in the interest of transparency and due to the financials involved.

Chairman Garfinkel read the ordinance. There was discussion of the definition of right of way. Chairman Garfinkel suggested adding the word “public” and removing “street” to the ordinance so Mr. Holland can build his shed. There is only one other area in Minnesott Beach that would be affected, and it is controlled by HOA so it should not come before the town. Janet Armstrong made a motion to amend the ordinance, so it reads “…public right of way …” Mac Rubel seconded the motion. All ayes.
