A native Charlottean can feel like a rare breed in our city nowadays, but Jordan Lopez was proudly born and raised in East Charlotte and will bring his lifelong passion for his home to the legislature as the Representative for District 112. Jordan and his sister were raised by a mother who taught them to value compassion, honesty, and hard work for the things they care about most.

Jordan is a proud product of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, where educators and community members alike helped shape him into the man he is today, fostering a passion for service that he still carries with him. With the lessons he learned at home and at school in mind, he pursued an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Masters of Public Administration from North Carolina Central University, from which he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Ensure that starting teacher pay is tied to inflation (the same way political contributions are) to ensure our public educators are not just getting by, but can actually get ahead.
Advocate for restoring Master’s Pay for teachers. These professionals invest in themselves to be better educators for our students, it’s time we invest back into them.
Support funding that creates or expands programs designed to help improve student learning outcomes. From afterschool programming to in-class assistance, our students are worth the investment.
