While living in Virginia for most of her career, Rollin and her husband, Mike, and their child, Sam, made regular visits to northeastern North Carolina. Entranced by the natural beauty of the area and overwhelmed by the friendliness of the people, Rollin has been proud to call northeastern North Carolina home since she retired.

In retirement, Rollin volunteers at a food pantry, advocates for improvements before local governments, and serves as an appointed member of the Board of Adjustment. Rollin is also an active member of her religious congregation, volunteers with several marine conservation efforts, and helps on town clean-ups and community events.
