My wife, Sam, and I operate Beckland Farm. We are a Century Farm located in central Davidson County. We reside on my grandfather’s farm that raised a variety of livestock and crops. We have registered Herefords and commercial Angus x Herefords with BQA designation.

I serve on the local Cooperative Extension Advisory Board, where I was president for many years. I have served on the State Cooperative Extension Board since 2024. In 2023 I received the Davidson County Cooperative award for service to agriculture. In 2018, we received the Davidson County Soil and Water award for conservation. Since retiring from a banking career, I have been able to devote full attention to our operation and service to agriculture.

Kent Beck operates Beckland Farm with his wife, Sam. He previously served as executive director of the Lexington Chamber of Commerce and worked in banking.
