Peter (Pete) Herron

Peter (Pete) Herron is from Quincy, Massachusetts. He graduated from Quincy High School. He and his wife, Nancy, have two sons. He is a member of Callicutt Chapel Wesleyan Church in Montgomery County.

Pete is a law enforcement officer. He previously worked for the North Carolina juvenile justice system and the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. He also served as a drill sergeant and instructor with the U.S. Army Reserve. 

Pete is currently a sergeant major with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. He previously worked for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and the North Carolina juvenile justice system.

He previously worked at Samarcand Manor in the North Carolina juvenile justice system for ten years, serving as a third shift supervisor; served as the Wildlife Officer assigned to Montgomery and Stanly Counties with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission; and served in the United States Marine Corps, which he joined in 1983, and then in the U.S. Army Reserve as a drill sergeant and instructor.

Pete is a law enforcement officer. He previously worked for the North Carolina juvenile justice system at Samarcand Manor for ten years. He also served as a wildlife officer for Montgomery and Stanly Counties. He later worked for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, where he reached the rank of sergeant major. He also served as an instructor with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission Recruit School, a field training officer, and the director of the Enforcement Division Honor Guard. He also served as a drill sergeant and an instructor with the Army Reserve Drill Sergeant School.

Pete is currently a sergeant major with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. He previously served as a wildlife officer with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.

- The sheriff is responsible for enforcing the law, managing security in jails and courtrooms. They also oversee daily conditions of the jail and inmates in custody and serve legal documents such as warrants and eviction notices. Their ultimate responsibility is to protect the community.
