Sheriff Rogers is a Lenoir County native since birth and he graduated from South Lenoir High School.

After completing high school, he attended and completed Basic Law Enforcement Training at Pitt Community College.

He has been awarded his Intermediate and Advanced Law Enforcement Certification and has been awarded the Long Leaf Pine Award from the North Carolina Governor.

Sheriff Rogers is married to Dawn, his wife of 25 years and they have raised two children, Drew and Carson in the La Grange community. He and his family worship at Garris Chapel Church in where he serves as head of the security team and usher.

Public Safety

At the time of the investigation, Reed was employed as a medical technician at the jail, and Hines was employed as a detention officer.
        “This case serves as a reminder that we will not tolerate criminal behavior within our detention center,” Sheriff Jackie Rogers said. “Anyone who violates the law and betrays the oath and trust placed in them will be held accountable.”

My work history in law enforcement started early on with my first job at the Kinston Police Department working in Patrol, Police Community Action Team, Narcotics Investigations and the SWAT team.
