My Family

I have been married to my lovely wife Renee for 32 years and we share two sons, Casey who is 25 years old and Charlie who is 16 years old.

Banks Hinceman earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Lees-McRae College. He currently serves on the board of directors of Option, Inc., and has served as its vice president for two years. He has been married to his wife, Renee, and they have two sons.

On December 6, 2021, I officially filed to run for the Office of Burke County Sheriff. I began my law enforcement career at the Burke County Sheriff’s Office on August 13, 1989. I have had the honor of serving the citizens of Burke County for 32 years in many capacities, including Patrol Deputy, Patrol Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, Detective, and Major (Chief Deputy). I have been blessed to serve as Chief Deputy under two different Sheriffs for a total of 15 years.

Better Pay, Benefits and Technology

Advocate for increased pay for our Sheriff’s Office staff in order to increase employee recruitment and retention.

Work closely with other county leaders in an effort to provide our deputies and detention officers with the most current equipment and technology to aid in the performance of their duties.

Work closely with the District Attorney’s Office to prosecute drug traffickers and dealers, while using programs like LEAD (Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion) to help low level drug offenders and users get off of drugs.
