PENDER COUNTY, NC – Jason Spivey was officially sworn in to the Pender County Schools Board of Education on September 10, 2024, filling the vacant District 4 seat.

Appointed by the Pender County Republican Party, Spivey, who is also the Mayor of Atkinson, brings a strong background in public communication, management, and law enforcement to the Board. He will serve through 2026 and fills the seat vacated by Ken Smith.

Jason was sworn in to the Pender County Schools Board of Education for District 4 in 2024 after being appointed to fill a vacant seat; his term runs through 2026. He is also the mayor of Atkinson.
