Julie Won is from South Korea. She earned her bachelor's in English and international relations from Syracuse University and attended the City Univeristy of Hong Kong where she studied international relations. She lives with her two children in New York City, New York. 

Julie is a member of the New York City Council, representing the 26th district. Before taking public office, she worked as a community organizer and advocate for affordable housing and immigrant rights. She also worked at IBM for a decade, where she served as an advisor to the federal government. Julie is a co-founder of the Queens Small Business Alliance (QSBA).
