Felipe Garcia earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from The City College of New York and his master's degree in healthcare administration from the Zicklin School of Business. He volunteers with the Associate of Energy Engineers. He lives in the Hunts Point area of The Bronx. 

Felipe currently works as the director of energy management and implementation at Ross Energy Consulting. He previously worked as the director of energy management at Mount Sinai Health System and as a unit director at Crothall Healthcare. 

Felipe previously served as a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives from 2013 to 2015. He did not seek re-election in 2014 and left office in 2015.
