Wei-Li Tjong earned his bachelor's degree in English and comparative literature from The Johns Hopkins University and his law degree from the New York University School of Law. He lives in Lower Manhattan. 

Wei-Li is an attorney and the founder of his own law firm, which he has run for 15 years. He has also practiced law at major firms, worked in-house at a global investment company, and served as an NYC administrative law judge. Before taking public office, he worked as a community organizer and advocate for various social issues. He currently serves as the president of Seward Park Cooperative, where he has worked for over 25 years. 

Wei-Li is a partner at Tjong and Hsia LLP and the president of the Seward Park Collective. He previously worked as a senior associate at Norton Rose Fulbright, the vice president of AllianceBernstein, and an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, and Flom LLP and Affiliates. 

Wei-Li previously served as a member of the New Jersey General Assembly from 2018 to 2020. He did not seek re-election in 2020.
