Born and raised in the heart of the Big Apple in Brooklyn, New York, Jason Murillo grew up in Manhattan’s Lower East Side looking for a fresh start, living in NYCHA public housing, surviving childhood domestic violence and abuse, being homeless, living on the streets & in the city's shelter system with his mother, escaping an abusive father whom was involved in organized crime back in the 1970's and 1980's is where Jason witnessed firsthand both the strength and love for himself and from a community that took him as one of their own as a native son and the dramatic changes reshaping the city he loves.
