I believe that every child deserves a world-class education that prepares them for a thriving future. That’s why I am committed to restoring the gold standard of the Regents Exams, which serve as a vital benchmark for academic achievement and readiness. As other parties push for ambiguous measures like the “Portrait of a Graduate,” I stand firm in protecting objective standards that ensure diplomas retain their value.

My plan also calls for expanding the cap of charter schools from 460 statewide to 3,000, mirroring successful models like New Orleans, which have resulted in smaller class sizes, increased job opportunities, and better outcomes for students. Rather than investing in cannabis shops, we should invest in education—because strong schools are the foundation of strong communities.

I will challenge the current “diversity, equity, and inclusion” mandates that, while well-intentioned, have sometimes led to “negative equity education,” where graduation rates rise but the actual value and preparedness of our youth declines. New York State spends more than $36,000 per student—top in the nation—yet student achievement remains mediocre.
