Hon. Carolyn "Tippi" Cain Burch

Carolyn “Tippi” Cain Burch is from Columbus, Georgia. She has a bachelor's degree from Auburn University and a law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. She is a wife and mother. Tippi attends St. Paul United Methodist Church.

As an assistant United States attorney, prosecuted federal criminal cases on behalf of the U.S. attorney’s office, mentored and supervised clerical staff and attorneys, advised state and federal law enforcement agents during investigations, and presented cases to grand juries.

As an attorney in private practice, researched, drafted, and filed legal documents, and provided defense and counsel to clients.

- Georgia Superior Court Judges hear a wide range of criminal cases from petty theft and public drunkenness to murder. Some cases in front of the Georgia Superior Court involve the death penalty. 
- On the civil side, Superior Court Judges hear cases on divorce, titles to land, contract disputes, and premises liability. 
- Superior Court Judges are elected by judicial circuit. Each county surrounding Atlanta has its own judicial circuit, while rural judicial districts typically consist of multiple counties.
