Ruwa Romman was born in Jordan and moved to the United States when she was seven years old. She attended South Forsyth High School before earning her bachelor's degree from Oglethorpe University and her master's degree in public policy from Georgetown University. Ruwa lives in Georgia with her husband.

Ruwa is a state representative. She works at the Georgia House of Representatives, where she represents House District 97.

Ruwa currently works as a senior consultant at Deloitte. She previously worked as the communications director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Georgia and as a field organizer for the Georgia Muslim Voter Project and the Asian American Advocacy Fund. She also co-founded the Georgia Volunteer Hub.
