Jesse L. Petrea is a native of Savannah, Georgia. He graduated from Benedictine Military School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Armstrong State College in 1989. He and his wife, Brianna, reside on the Isle of Hope and have two children and three grandchildren. He is a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

For 28 years, he was the co-owner of Coastal Home Care, Inc. and Altrus, Inc., companies. In January 2019, he sold the businesses to Help at Home, a national home care organization, where he subsequently served as Vice President of Development. He is currently the President of Green Heron Consulting, LLC, a healthcare consulting company.
