Samie Conyers is originally from Miami, Florida. He received his associate's degree from Frederick Community College. He studied business administration at Central Texas College and the University of Maryland and religious counseling at the American College of Metaphysical Theology. He and his wife, Brenda, have one child. They attend Calvary New Life Tabernacle, where Samie is a volunteer pastor.

Samie's campaign for state representative for Georgia District 116 is his first run for public office.

Samie is currently retired. He previously worked at North Miami General Hospital and as a member of the board of trustees at Frederick Community College, and as a minister. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps for eight years.
