Alana Sanders is from Covington, Louisiana. She earned her bachelor's degree in mass communications from Grambling State University, her master's degree in business management from American InterContinental University, her master's degree in human resources management from Kaplan University, and her Doctor of Philosophy from Walden University. She currently lives in Covington, Georgia

Alana currently works as the director of government affairs at the SheLead Initiative, a business and marketing consultant at MarketingPros, LLC, and a professor of business at Liberty University. She previously worked as the director of strategic initiatives at Kidpreneurs Inc., a textbook author at Top Hat and Pearson Education, a publisher at MidsUp Worldwide, a business consultant at Organically McKinley Cosmetics, and a publisher at The Social Connection Magazine.

Alana previously served as a member of the Newton County, Georgia, Commission. She served one term from 2020 to 2025.
