Segun Adeyina has a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Akron and a master's degree in management information systems from The Lawrence Technological University. He and his wife, Kofo, live in Grayson with their three children. 

Segun previously was the executive director of the NAPAC, an organization that mobilizes the Nigerian-American community in the country to vote.
