Derrick L Thomas lives in Stockbridge, Georgia. He lives with his wife, Tameka, and they have two daughters. 

Derrick is currently a principal in the City Schools of Decatur. Previously, he was a mathematics teacher in Clayton County and a principal at Renfroe Middle School.
