Timothy Doherty is originally from Daleville, Alabama. He earned his bachelor's degree in elementary education for Michigan State University and his master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Georgia. He lives with his wife in Morganton. Georgia.

Timothy's campaign for Fannin County Board of Education is his first run for public office.

Timothy currently works as a beekeeper at Doc's Healing Hives. He previously worked as an assistant principal at Riverwood International Charter School and Fulton County Schools and a teacher at Fulton County Schools. Timothy served as a medical operations officer in the U.S. Army for 28 years.
