Steven Gailey is originally from Clermont, Georgia. He attended Southern Technical College. He lives in Clermont with his two adult children and four grandchildren. 

Steven previously served as Hall County Commissioner, District 3. He served two terms from 2002 to 2010. He also previously served as Mayor of Clermont and a member of the Clermont City Council. 

Steven previously worked in the plant engineering department at the Atlantic Steel Company and was an environmental consultant.
