Lonnie Wimberly has a bachelor 27s degree in business administration from Fayetteville State University, a master 27s degree in education from National-Louis University, and a master 27s degree in business administration from Brenau University. He has lived in Augusta since 1993. 

Lonnie is a retired U.S. Army Command Sergeant Major. He served in the Army for 30 years. He is also a retired deputy director in Augusta's facilities maintenance division.
