Stuart Neal earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Texas Christian University and a juris doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. He and his wife, Jan, have three daughters. The family attends Granbury First United Methodist Church.

Stuart is a practicing attorney. He currently serves as the Chief of the Juvenile Unit for the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office in Fort Worth. He has worked as a prosecutor, Granbury's City Attorney, and a criminal defense attorney serving clients in Hood County and surrounding areas.
