Kayla earned her bachelor's degree in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies from New York University and a law degree from New York Law School. She lives in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, where she co-owns a small business with her husband.

Kayla Santosuosso currently serves as Chief Counsel to Council Member Justin Brannan. She previously worked as an Assistant Corporation Counsel at the NYC Law Department and as Deputy Chief of Staff to Brannan. Her earlier roles include managing programs at Havens Relief Fund Society and serving as Deputy Director at the Arab American Association of New York.

Kayla Santosuosso’s campaign for New York City Council is her first run for public office.
