Brendan Sweeney (Stanley Town Council Ward 5, North Carolina ...

Brendan Sweeney is from Buffalo, New York. He has a bachelor's degree in history from Canisius College and a master's degree in education from Niagara University. He lives with his wife and their four children in Stanley.

Brendan is an educator. He teaches middle and high school social studies. He previously worked in the private financial sector. Earlier in his career, he worked with the Department of Defense, protecting facilities from biochemical agents in the wake of 9/11, and with the State Department at the Diplomatic Security Training Center.

Brendan Sweeney's campaign for Stanley Town Council Member, District 5 is his first entry into politics. 

Believes in advocating for community concerns such as property tax increases, affordable living, and displacement of homeowners.

Supports sustainable budgeting and responsible use of taxpayer dollars, focusing on cutting unnecessary spending.
