David Scholl has a bachelor's degree in finance from Miami University and a master's degree in instructional technology from East Carolina University. He and his wife of 44 years are longtime residents of Stallings and raised two daughters here. They are active members of Weddington Methodist Church.

Prioritized sidewalk repairs and created a new system to identify and fix dangerous areas.

As a town commissioner, secured state and county support for roads, fire services, hotel tax, and infrastructure.

- The Mayor in some circumstances may vote to break a tie in council meetings. They do not have veto power.
