Horace Wyatt is from Columbus County, North Carolina. He has an associate's degree in accounting from Southern States University. He has three children, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He is a deacon at his church.

Horace is a retired telecommunications technician. He worked at BellSouth, where he spent 40 years installing and maintaining phone systems. He also served in the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard.

Horace is the current mayor of Dublin, North Carolina. He previously served as mayor from 1994 to 1997 and again from 2003 to 2017. He also served on the Dublin Town Board for six years.
