Monica Walker has lived in Greensboro for more than 22 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from North Carolina State University and a law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. She has served on the Greensboro Convention Visitors Bureau Board, the Greensboro Board of Adjustment, and the Skyla Credit Union Board, and is president of the Gorrell Street Neighborhood Association and chair of the Southeast Greensboro Unified Neighborhood Council.

Monica currently works as a partner at the Groundwater Institute. She previously served as executive director of the Office for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for Guilford County Schools and earlier as a diversity officer for Guilford County Schools.

Monica Walker's campaign for Greensboro City Council Member, District 2 is her first entry into politics.
