Scott is from New Bern, North Carolina. He has a bachelor's degree in communication from North Carolina State University.

Scott is the Marketing Director at Zannis Plastic Surgery and Rinnova Spa & Wellness Center. He also owns and operates his own marketing company, Viral Vox Marketing. He previously worked as the Marketing Director at Raleigh Brewing Company from 2018 to 2022. Earlier in his career, he worked as a News Producer, Public Affairs Officer, and lead sales officer. He co-founded New Bern's first food delivery service, Table Takeout, which grew to deliver for over 100 restaurants in three cities before being sold.

Scott's campaign for New Bern Mayor is his first entry into politics.
