Kenia Gomez-Jimenez earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She lives in Henderson, North Carolina.

Kenia currently works as communications and administrative coordinator at the Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments. She previously served as a regional program coordinator at the same organization. Her past experience includes roles as internet sales coordinator at Crossroads Ford of Henderson, fellow with the North Carolina Reconciliation Project, legal intern at Velasquez & Associates Law Firm, and service learning partner with the Marian Cheek Jackson Center for Saving and Making History.

Kenia’s campaign for Henderson City Council Ward 1 is her first run for public office.
