Patrick is from Northeast Georgia. He earned an associate's degree in psychology and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Ashworth College and a master's degree in human services counseling from Liberty University. He serves as the Habersham County Library Board Chairman, is on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Georgia, supports the workforce development efforts of Partnership Habersham, and is a member of Rotary. He is married with 2 children.

Patrick currently works as an economic development liaison at Georgia Department of Education. He previously worked in career development at North Georgia Technical College and also has career experience in the public and private sectors.
