Dontaye Carter holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. He lives in Sandy Springs with his wife, Dr. Karen Creed, and their daughter. 

Dontaye owns Carter Media Group LLC, a public relations firm. Before launching the company in 2017, he worked as a TV reporter and producer in Georgia and Oklahoma, later joining Atlanta’s CBS46 and 11Alive, and served as Senior Public Affairs Officer for the Fulton County Superior Court.”

Dontaye is the owner of Carter Media Group LLC, a public relations firm focused on driving change in marginalized communities. He previously worked as a television reporter and producer at WCTV in Valdosta, GA, and as a reporter at KOKI FOX23 in Tulsa, OK, before joining Atlanta's WGCL-TV CBS46 and WXIA-TV 11 Alive. He also served as the Senior Public Affairs Officer for the Superior Court of Fulton County for a year before starting his company in 2017.
