Cynthia previously served as the Mayor of Meigs and is currently a city council member. She was first elected as mayor in 2013 and served until 2015. She ran for re-election in 2015 but did not win. She was elected to the Meigs City Council in 2023.

Said fixing the city's financial situation is the top priority.

As a council member, voted to close the Meigs Police Department.
