Donna Murphy was raised in Alpharetta. She attended Alpharetta Elementary School and graduated from Milton High School and the University of Georgia. She and her husband, Pat, have three adult children and two granddaughters.

Donna is a residential realtor and small business owner. She is a founding partner of the Murphy-Sander Group LLC. Earlier in her career, she worked as a systems engineer with Digital Communication Associates (DCA).
