Henry Cuellar resides in Laredo, Texas with his wife, Imelda, and their two daughters, Christina and Catherine. He earned an associate degree from Laredo Community College, a graduate degree from Georgetown University, a Master’s Degree from Texas A&M International University, and both a Juris Doctor and Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.

Henry Cuellar is currently serving in his ninth term in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Texas’ 28th Congressional District. He is the Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security and also serves on the Defense Subcommittee and the Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies. He previously served as a Texas State Representative and Texas Secretary of State.
