Trey is from the south side of San Antonio and graduated from Oliver Wendell Holmes High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science and government from The University of Texas at San Antonio, a master's degree in public administration from the Baruch School of Public Affairs, and a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have 2 children and live in San Antonio's historic West Side.

Trey Martinez Fischer was born on the southside of San Antonio, the fourth of five children. He graduated from Holmes High School and later from the University of Texas. He served as an altar boy at St. Luke Catholic Church.
