John Fitzgerald McGee is a county Department of Education board member in Harris County Texas, precinct 1. He assumed office in 2023 and is serving his 1st term.

John currently conducts financial analysis for the City of Houston's Housing and Community Development Department. He served as the budget director for Dallas ISD for 7 years, worked in the Spring Branch and Houston ISDs, and retired from Aldine ISD as the director of accounting and business services. He began his career as a budget examiner with the Legislative Budget Board and was the assistant budget director for the Texas Education Agency.

John is originally from Dallas. He earned a bachelor's degree in finance and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin. He earned his doctorate in Biblical servant leadership from Dallas Baptist University. He lives with his wife, Phaedra, and they have 5 adult children and 5 grandchildren. He attends the Crossover Bible Fellowship.
