Sherrod Brown currently serves as a U.S. Senator in the State of Ohio. He was elected to this position in 2006 and is serving his 3rd term. He previously served as a U.S. Representative in Congressional District 13. He was named to that position in 1993 and served for 7 terms. He also served as the Ohio Secretary of State. He was named to that position in 1983 and served for 2 terms. He also served as a state representative. He was named to that position in 1975 and served for 3 full terms.

Sherrod previously worked as a faculty member at The Ohio State University at Mansfield.

Sherrod was born and raised in Mansfield. He holds a bachelor's degree in Russian studies from Yale University and a graduate degree in education from The Ohio State University. He is married to his wife, Connie, with whom he has 4 children and 8 grandchildren. Sherrod currently lives in Cleveland. He is Lutheran.
