Laurel Beatty Blunt currently serves as judge in Court of Appeals Division 10 in Ohio. She was first elected in 2019 and is serving her first term. She previously served as a judge on the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas from 2009 to 2018.

Laurel currently works as a visiting professor at the University of Michigan Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. She previously worked as the director of legislative affairs and counsel for the Voting Rights Institute for the Ohio Secretary of State and as an associate in private practice.

Laurel earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Spelman College and her law degree from Vanderbilt University. She and her husband, Richard, have 2 children.
