Kristen holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Akron. She lives in Summit County. 

Kristen is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). She previously worked as the chief deputy fiscal officer in Summit County and as a private accountant.

Kristen M. Scalise currently serves as the Summit County Fiscal Officer. She was appointed to this position in 2011 and is serving her 3rd full term. She is the chairperson of the Summit County Investment Board and Summit County Land Reutilization Corporation. 

As fiscal officer, Scalise developed a county veteran ID card program for military veterans.
