Mike is originally from Cincinnati. He earned a bachelor's degree from Ohio State University. He lives with his wife, Lisa, in Oakwood, OH.

Mike previously worked as an Ohio deputy registrar and worked in restaurant franchise management. He also served as a medic in the United States Army and the Ohio National Guard.
